Excellent content, delivery could be better

An excellent collection of science-based suggestions, collated by a respected New Scientist journalist, packed with information on a diverse range of issues and certainly well-written.

However, I don’t think the author was the best choice for reading the audio version of the book, as the performance was often rather clumsy, faltering and dull, delivered in a way that made me feel that, curiously, this was the first time the author had read her own words aloud! I would therefore recommend that you focus on the Kindle or paperback versions.

Recommended, and free from the hype from which so many self-help books suffer.

It changed my life

It gave me the template to actively reflect, keep learning, accept myself, others, be more dynamic with my surroundings and change for the best. Happiness, joy and contentment.

Just another book from the self help factory

Listening to this is much like listening to any other self-help book written by anyone with a science background. They all think that if they can only state the problem, give a few examples, mention some research, and suggest some remedial action (which may, or may not, be proven to work), all will be well. Sadly, life, and the human brain, is more complicated than that.

It's a decent enough read, and well-narrated, but ultimately it adds little to the self-help genre,
