About this listen
When Skye Dunbar rents a small cabin in Washington State's San Juan Islands, the last thing she expects is to be accused of computer hacking.
When marine biologist Jeddediah Walker discovers the fish contain a high concentration of chemicals, he suspects they are being deliberately dumped in Puget Sound. And he has another problem - an unexpected, beautiful, and suspicious new tenant renting his cabin. Later, when someone hacks into his computer, he realizes it is no coincidence and sets out to find out more about his mysterious tenant.
However, Skye doesn't like Walker from the moment she lays eyes on him. He feels the same way. But that's about to change.

All Skye wants is to be left alone. She does not want to meet a man or get entangled in any local fish issues.Great book! Narration by Virginia Ferguson was well done.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Intriguing story
I found this a very engaging story and kept me intrigued through-out.
The book took some turns that I didn't expect and I love it when books surprise me like that.
This audiobook was very well narrated by Virginia Ferguson...she portrayed all the characters in this story and was able to change her voice and her accent for them all...American to British,Male to female and it was all a smooth transition..I enjoyed listening to Virginia's performance.
This is a romance between Brit Skye and American Walker who meet while Skye is on an unexpected vacation from her job and her life.
Skye had experienced a traumatic event a year ago and was still not over the event that changed her life she escapes to Seattle to recouperate.
This is were she meets Walker a marine Biologist who is investigating the illegal dumping of chemical waste in the Ocean, after discovering a number of dead fish washed up on the shore.
There is an immediate connection between them a spark that doesn't go away, and they embark on a passionate affair.
But because of the investigation Walker is involved in,he is quite suspicious and can't find it to trust anyone...even having doubts how Skye came into his life.
There is more to this story than just the romance between Skye and Walker and events happen that have them working together to bring the bad guys to justice....But things don't go to plan and it is touch and go whether their affair can go beyond a fling,or survive the mistrust and miscommunication.
Although I did enjoy listening to this book by Victoria Howard I did struggle at the start for some reason but glad that I carried on listening...because the story does become more compelling..I became captivated by the mystery of story and needed to find out what would happen between Walker and Skye, especially when another man comes between them.
I actually thought at one point that this story was not going to end well..I think Victoria Howard did a great job at making you wonder what would happen.
A very entertaining Audiobook.
Fantastic

Lovely
I’ve really enjoyed this book, Walker is what most women want I believe, and I know I wouldn’t say no! Lol
The story is well written and and quite exciting with the pollution twist...
I would recommend this book to mystery and romance enthusiasts.

Crime and Romance
As romances go, this was absolutely fine. We have the usual mix of attraction, misunderstanding, mistrust, and conclusion. I'm not really sure I liked the main characters, though.
Walker was a jerk, and Skye was too naive for the successful business woman she was meant to be.
The mystery that made her so vulnerable didn't rub with me, imo, there was absolutely no reason this could have been used to blackmail her.
The narration was fine, though, and the story wasn't boring at all, so I had no trouble finishing it.
I don't feel this novel compares to the other two novels I've read by this author, though.
I can't really say why that is, maybe because I am older now?
Anyway, I still enjoyed the book.

I really enjoyed this book from a new author!
I had not heard of this author but took a chance and downloaded her book from Audiobooks Unleashed for free to read on Audible. I liked the book so much that I wanted to leave a review with my own opinion. This story takes place quite a bit in and around Pungent Sound at a cottage that Skye has rented to get away for a month to relax and heal from a broken relationship. She is rented this cottage because she was told there was nothing around her and that is what she wants to be totally alone. When a nosy man introduces on her she is livid that she has to deal with anyone. Walker owns his own company and also the cottage that Skye is staying in! Although he isn't staying there. This book deals with a subject that concerns a lot of people and I found it very interesting. Give it a listen well worth your time.

Romantic mystery
This story was a romantic mystery. It involved the co-owner of a software company who travels to the U.S. West coast and meets with an investigator. There is tension between them until a trust can be established and they end up helping resolve an environmental problem.
The story was suspenseful and there was a romantic attachment also introduced. The narration was also great.
This book was provided free of charge with expectation of an honest review.

enjoyable
Although I like this writer, I did not enjoy this book as much as previous ones. I was disappointed that I didn't like any of the characters, and found parts of the story line a bit unbelievable. The narration was good, no complaints there.
