much like the rest of the series

I liked the vocabulary and story line, but really the author should switch it up a bit - all if the women in this series had the same character just a slightly different background. The sex scenes were all lengthy and samey. in fact the story lines were not much different either. listening to these in series become very dull.
The narrator had good diction but fails on the nuance in English pronunciation. several instances where this was apparent, i thought perhaps they have recorded it with an AI voice, that said I've just heard a preview of the next in the series and it's worse! so my journey stops here, After the first 2 books, this series has felt like a test of endurance. it's a shame, if i had time to sit and read I think i would have enjoyed the series more. the narration ruined it for me.

Convoluted and Disappointing

I had hoped they wouldn't resort to standard character, he a manipulative bully, she an intelligent wimp. However, after chapters of his serious deprivation he realises he can act. He then resorts to type, and follows all the author's bullying heros, the heroine is a puddle and can't help it. You would think his father producing fifteenth bastards, would be a lesson in caution. Apparently this author totally forgets that ultimately it is the woman that carries the be burden, so the heroes don't care. Sorry; their excuse is ultimately they will marry the heroine, so that excuses all. In lock down and out of boredom, I have listen to the Bastion Club and Bar Cynster series in order. If you are a fan of the author, DON'T do this, it shows the repetitiveness, similarities of the characters, copy and pasting. I also linked back to basic characters in her original books, very disappointing. The harrumphing becomes more prevalent in the Cynster series.
So the last traitor is unveiled, but this is a throw away, to the rest of the seduction, explicit sex, could I, would I, should I, scenarios. As I said convoluted, disappointing, not worth the wait.
