Summary

The doctor can heal me, but can he keep me safe?

My brother has been embezzling from his employers. Unfortunately, when I accidentally discover that information, I end up hurled straight into the Potomac. If it weren’t for Dr. Derek Carlisle, I’d be fish food.

When he offers more than medical help, I bolt. It’s not his job to protect me, even if the older man is everything I’ve ever wanted.

The young man needs a protector.

From the moment I see him, I know Seb is more than a patient. I’ve never been tempted to cross the patient/doctor line before. For him? I’ll do it in a heartbeat.

His brother wants to hurt him, and he needs someone to keep him safe. Me. Except, I can’t keep my hands off of him. Is a man as inexperienced as Seb ready for something more than a few nights of fun? I need to find out before keeping him safe breaks my heart.

Touch and Go features heroes with an age gap, danger lurking all around, and a healthy dose of hurt/comfort. The brothers of Vanguard Towers are at the front lines of love, and Derek is only the first to fall.

Couldn't connect

I liked this one okay. There was just a lot going on and the characters kept getting confused in my head with there being so many. I typically either really enjoy or really don't enjoy this author. This one just happened to be a miss for me, but I'll keep trying.

Brill

Brill start to a new series, I love that Derrick can’t himself for wanting to help Seb when he has a couple of trips to the ER. Full of mystery and intrigue.

Great narration!

I loved this series! And this book 1 is amazing so adding Mr Thorson’s narration to the mix, was simply a treat. The story of Derek and Seb is interesting and sweet, and in spite of the difficult topic and some familiar drama is a nice reading with low angst, some romance and hot scenes. I enjoyed a lot both the written version and the audiobook, and I found that a great narration and voice acting just completed the experience of this amazing reading!

A bit of a hit and a bit of a miss

Usually I like Aiden's books, but this one was a bit too much in parts. I understand wanted to get all the characters in for the rest of the series but 7 foster brothers plus the main character and then his friends and brother. Basically too many characters to keep an eye on when they are all in a lot of the chapters.
Plus its too long winded in bits.
I did listen to it all and enjoyed the second half far better than the start.
Will continue with the rest of the series as I think it will be better.

Derek and Seb

Deb is accident prone and ends up in Emergency where he meets the Dr Derek, in his head names him Dr Dish. There is a distinct need to help Seb from Derek's nature and his built family. When Seb comes in dead, Derek and his brothers step in to help. Derek and Deb make a wonderful pair, and can't wait to continue this amazing series. Great narration

Great story

This was my first book by Aiden Bates and it will certainly not be my last.
I liked the story of Seb and Derek. It was entertaining and exciting and I listened to the audiobook within two days.

When Seb arrives in the emergency room, he meets Derek. He’s the doctor treating him. He discovers further injuries to Seb, who has excuses for having fallen clumsily.
When an emergency is brought in the next day, which had been fished from the Potomac River and had to be resurrected, Derek is quite astonished when he discovers that it is Sebastian. Derek’s instinct for self-defence is awakened, because he can’t imagine Sebastian being suicidal.
Seb discovered something on his brother’s computer that wasn’t meant for his eyes. And he doesn’t know what danger he’s in.

I liked the author’s loose and fluid writing style and was captivated from the beginning of the story.
I love Derek and his brothers. These characters are real and far from perfect, and yet they harmonize quite well as a family. Seb on the other hand has only his brother and the relationship between the two has always been difficult.

Seb and Derek are likeable protagonists and there are budding feelings between the two who are actually quite cute together. But do they have a chance?
The story is entertaining and emotionally told, and I found it exciting. I also liked the interaction between the brothers very much.

I didn’t know Joseph Thorson as a narrator before, but he did a good job. The voices of the protagonists were clearly distinguishable and the narrative tempo was also fine.

I’m looking forward to the next volume of the series!

Great story and performance

I am a huge fan of Aiden Bates motorcycle romance series, but I just may become an even bigger fan of this series. I loved this suspenseful, hot, romantic story of Derek and Seb. Their meetings and doctor/patient were well set up and the hurt/comfort and protector tropes were well mixed with the suspense story involving Seb and his brother. I felt the heat of the romance and the danger Seb was in kept me on the edge of my seat. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series. I knew when I read this that the audio was going to be amazing and this did not disappoint. Joseph Thorson gives an excellent performance here, capturing all the tension and steamy romance perfectly.

Frontline Brother

Derek is a doctor, he and 6 of his 7 foster brothers all live together and work the frontlines. When and injured Seb comes into the ER all of Derek's protective instincts kick in to help. Love story with action and family. I loved the dynamic between all the brothers and the chemistry with the 2 MCs. Seb is a bit younger than Derek, and some of his actions were immature and I wanted to slap him upside the head a few times. They do get their HEA though - so no worries. Looking forward to stories for the other brothers. New narrator to me, I thought he did pretty well.

Good story

The narration wasn’t the best, I’ve definitely heard better voice actors but it wasn’t terrible. His pacing was good, and the words were clear. I didn’t hear any issues with the actually audio-wave, or mastering but he didn’t have much of a change from main character to main character. There was between main characters and most side characters though.

Looking forward to the next in the series, the characters were fun and interesting. The story gave me lots of emotions. I was curious for more as the story went. The ending wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be but still decent enough.
