Summary

February 1665.

With winter passing, Mercia Blakewood is at last headed back to England from America, hoping to leave behind the shadow that death and heartache have cast. She expects a welcome from the King, considering her earlier, mostly successful mission on his behalf, but the reception is not exactly warm. A great trilogy satisfactorily tied up

This series has been a real pleasure. Intelligent historical fiction. Thankfully in the last book the dullest character gets left in America. I’d be interested in more from from the same characters in future.

The content of the trilogy was fascinating, well read.
Would recommend to anyone who enjoys historical fiction
