Excellent story by an excellent story-teller

Troy was an amazing follow up to Mythos and Heroes. Stephen Fry is a fantastic story-teller. I highly recommend the entire series! I hope he decides to do another - on the Odyssey perhaps?

Update makes vast improvement

Stephen fry is very entertaining and this acts to serve as an excellent introduction to the Iliad.
Now that the production has been split into chapters following the book- and even including chapter headings! - makes navigation easy, especially in one where there is a lot of information to follow.

An epic to rival Homer himself

Yet another fantastic book from a fantastic author and narrator and another fantastic entry in the trilogy of ancient myth and legend. Brilliant from the first word through to the last.

Great

I loved this third book on Greek mythology as much Mythos and Heros. Fantastic rendering of fabulous stories. Tremendous narration and fantastic look at the historical and archaeological theories.

Fantastic!

I am currently studying classics and this was a wonderful seamless telling of the whole Troy story stitched together from too many sources to mention. I would have loved his bibliography as a pdf to chase down some of the more obscure threads of the story.

A Perfect third volume to the series

This telling of the siege of Troy is a total joy. Stephen Fry's wonderful story telling brings it all to life. Starting with the back story - or rather the back story to the back story - we are taken through the whole entriguing chronicle. Fry breaks from the story occasionally to explain and give context. This recording is simply wonderful: the perfect companion to the first two books (but if you haven't read them, don't worry, you can go back and get them later!).

A great ending to a great trilogy!

I've always been interested in Greek mythology. After attempting to read Homer's Odyssey a few times and never being able to finish, I was happy to discover Stephen Fry's audio books. I absolutely loved the first two, he's a fantastic story teller who delivers the complicated chronology and lineage in a very comprehensive way.

This book was no different, I just love his use of words that instantly paints a picture in your mind and he has a very poetic way of speaking.

If you're interested in Greek myth or are just a fan of Fry, you'll love these books. 10/10!

Outstanding retelling of the myth of Troy

I loved this from start to finish, Fry paints a vivid picture of the places and personalities in the story. He adds character and nuance with his vocal impressions to convey the personalities of the character, he even does good impressions of the women, and is portrayal of Odysseus is masterful.

Genuinely quite special.
