About this listen
Do you want a thriller that grips from the first line?
Do you want a thriller to leave you gasping for air?
Connor Laird frightens people: he's intense, he's fearless, and he seems to be willing to do anything to protect himself and those he loves. He arrives in the Longacre Children's Home seemingly from nowhere, and instantly becomes hero and villain to every other child there.
Thirty years later, someone is killing all of those who grew up in the Longacre, one at a time. Each of them has secrets, not least investigating cop DI Ray Drake.
One by one the mysteries of the past are revealed as Drake finds himself in a race against time before the killer gets to him.
Who is killing to hide their secret?
And can YOU guess the ending?

Engaging read full of twists and turns
I couldn’t stop listening to this, brilliantly narrated and full of twists that kept me guessing. The characters are portrayed with depth and nuance and the plot was compelling. Will definitely be listening to more in the series and was great as a free listen from the Plus Catalogue.

Mind blowing experience
Helter-Skelter - Twists and Turns. And just when you thought you knew - You realise you don't - Then just when you thought it had ended, you realise it hasn't.
The narrator takes you to a whole new experience of AUDIBLE!
And the story takes you to a completely different dimension!
What a mind-blowing experience

Very twisty
Cleverly written and brilliantly narrated. I really enjoyed this audiobook. The characters have great depth which added to my enjoyment. The author takes you on a journey through the past in order to solve a murder in the present.

pretty good
I guessed the killer early on and the twist but saying that the story is still good. the narrator was good but some parts he read a little too fast and that was distracting as it is a complex story so I felt the narrator should have taken his time with some of the heightened moments in the book, however, all in all it was enjoyable and I would listen to the next one as this one finished on a bit of a cliffhanger.

enjoyable but hard to follow
So many characters and plot twists made it difficult to follow. Add to that a plot line from the past that added to the confusion. The reader was very good and stuck with it so while I enjoyed it I don't think I'll be getting more from this author.

a really good book, I can't believe it hasn't got the attention or recognition it deserves. I will be recommending it to my friends for sure.

Left me wanting more
Intriguing. I thought I'd worked out who did what and why but then came the double twist. Clever plotting and enigmatic characters . Well narrated.
