This duet narration was perfect for the story!
I loved listening to this book. It's a duet narration, which I love, and it really pulls you into the story. I would listen to either/both of these narrators again.
I've been looking forward to this book since meeting Jesse and Aspen at the end of the Reckless series. This is the first book in the series and is a standalone.
Aspen ends up moving in with Jesse to get away from her mother and her abusive ex. Jesse is the town sheriff and will do anything he can to keep her safe.
Jesse is waiting for the right moment to show Aspen how much she means to him, but she's got her mother and ex to deal with before she can move on. It was so sweet the way he made it known that he wanted to be with her, but stayed back so everything was at her pace.
I always love Nyssa's books and this series is no different, its everything you expect from her writing but she still manages to keep you on your toes with the characters, story and all the twists and turns. Looking back, I can't believe so much was packed into one book.
I love all the surrounding characters in this new series, and I'm hoping a few I've already met will play a part in future books.
If it's Beckett and Sky in the next book, there's going to be lots of fireworks between them for sure!

Perfect romantic suspense! Love Nyssa Kathryn!
Amber Ridge! A new place to visit. After meeting Aspen in Mystic Peak, I couldn't wait to hear her story. Now it's hear, and it is fabulous. Aspen has come to start over, away from her ex, and near Jesse. Being his roommate, she should feel safe, but she feels so much more. Jesse is developing feelings for his new housemate. But he knows there is a history that is making him hold back and give her time. But how long can that last? As these two grow closer, the danger comes lurking. Will he be able to keep her safe? I loved this listen for so many reasons. I love close proximity and the fact that it crosses over characters from Mystic Peak that I love. But even more, the suspense is high and the answers are what I least expected! A fantastic listen, and I can't wait to continue this series!
Lucy Rivers and Connor Crais are the story tellers, and what a job they do! Rivers is amazing in all of her narrations, and as Aspen, she totally understands her. Each emotion is spot on, and the feelings are portrayed realistically, straight to the heart. Crais comes in as Jesse, and his strong alpha feel comes through with that protectiveness, and his warmth envelopes Aspen. It's an amazing listen and highly recommended.
