Summary
Detective Carlo D’Scenzi goes Undercover to take down the notorious Motor City Cobras Motorcycle Club. The story unfolds when a cocaine dealer, accused of robbing the Cobras, triggers a chain of events that will change the lives of many.
Faced with the daunting task of infiltrating the gang, Carlo must navigate the treacherous world of outlaw motorcycle clubs. Amid the chaos, Carlo discovers a shadowy figure, a murderous former mercenary, manipulating the Cobras from the shadows. The narrative takes a dark turn when one of Carlo’s informants is ruthlessly tortured and killed, pushing Carlo to confront the enigmatic force behind the Cobras.
Undercover Snake Bit is a gripping tale of deception, loyalty and the high-stakes world of undercover police work.
"As consciousness slowly returned, Carlo’s senses stirred in the oppressive darkness. The Rohypnol haze was fading, replaced with a persistent headache. Finding his hands and feet were bound with zip ties sent a jolt of panic through him and he gritted his teeth against his rising anxiety.
Gathering his wits, he strained to piece together his surroundings. He knew he was on a dirt floor in a dark room and by looking out an old dirty window from where he lay, he determined it was dark outside. With every passing moment, clarity began to find its way back into Carlo’s mind and he knew he was in trouble. He was also getting angry and reminded himself that he was a D’Scenzi. He needed to find a way out so that he could…”
A lock rattled and then a creaky door opened behind him. Carlo didn’t move a muscle, feigning unconsciousness. He heard Moose say, “He should be coming out of it by now, but it’s not an exact science.”
Then a second man that Carlo identified as Jimbo replied, “It’s been about four hours now and the sun is going to be coming up. That van sticks out like a sore thumb. Should I try to wake him up?”
Moose replied, “We will give it another half hour, if he isn’t up by then we’ll blow some crank up his nose. I really want to avoid that because I have had bad luck with it before.”
After the door was pulled closed, Carlo sat up and shook his head, clearing the cobwebs. The movement got his adrenaline flowing and the effects of the drug diminished further. Slipping his zip tied hands under his butt, he worked them down until he could get them past his feet. With his hands now in front, Carlo worked the tie up his wrists as far as he could with his teeth to ensure maximum tension was on the industrial plastic.
Hopping on his bound feet, Carlo moved around the dark room until he found a box that he could sit up straight on. Raising his bound hands high above his head and then slamming them down on one knee while forcing his wrists apart. It took three blows, but the plastic failed and Carlo’s hands were free. In another moment, his feet were also free and he rummaged around until he found something he could fight with.
After settling on a broken shovel handle, Carlo was ready to go on the offensive. His first thought was to get out of what he had determined was a corrugated shed, but remembering the lock and creaky door, he didn’t want to give up his best advantage, the element of surprise. Carlo had no doubt that when they came to check on him again, they would regret it."
