About this listen

Rosaleen McDonagh writes fearlessly about a diverse experience of being Irish. Unsettled explores racism, ableism, abuse, and resistance as well as the bonds of community, family, and friendship. As an Irish traveller writing from a feminist perspective, McDonagh’s essays are rich and complex, raw and honest, and, above all else, uncompromising.

Great insight into the intersectional experience of a female Traveller with a disability in Ireland.

Great piece of writing and allows you an insight into the authors challenging life experiences, would recommend especially to settled Irish people who are looking to educate themselves about traveller culture and experiences.

Honest and beautiful

I can’t speak highly enough of this work…the writing brings Rosaleen to life and reminds us of the universal need for belonging, understanding and love. I felt seen by this collection. I’m so glad it exists

Powerful Authentic Raw

An amazing, intimate and powerful piece of writing! Expertly woven together by Rosaleen and so beautifully read by Kathleen.
