Summary
In the last few months, Peyton has solved multiple cases for the FBI, while Marco has learned to navigate his role as police captain. Navigating their personal relationship has proven more challenging, however.
Marco’s jealousy over Peyton’s newest friend, Mike, causes friction between them, but although he tries to curb it, he can’t deny a growing feeling that something isn’t right with this man.
As Peyton struggles to understand his obsession, she’s distracted by the cold case she’s pursuing. Before she and Tank can gain any traction, however, Radar’s wife provides the Ghost Squad with their latest mystery: vampires in Hollywood.

Just Fantastic!!!
Is this your first Peyton Brooks book? STOP! You will enjoy the series a whole lot more if you experience it in its entirety and in order. It is absolutely worth experiencing how the characters grow and develop!!
Peyton Brooks had been an FBI agent for a while now and the cohesiveness of her team is developing beautifully. This time their case takes them to Hollywood where they potentially hunt for vampires that haunt the seedy underbelly of the fashion industry. Much to my delight, this time we get to see Peyton working with not just her new team but also parts of her old team from the precinct, namely the delicious Angel-D (Marco), Jake and Abe. This case proves just as harrowing as the previous ones. Thankfully one can always count on Medical Examiner Abe to bring comic relief and exciting (and absurd) fashion to the story! Perhaps best of all is the moments of clarity that Peyton experiences as personal truths are brought to light. There may still be hope for her and Marco.
ML Hamilton must have magic in her pen. Every time I listen to a new book in this series I am just a little bit more hooked! She makes it so easy to commit to the characters and the story. She somehow entices and cajoles her readers so they keep coming back for more. With Kelley Hazen performing the books fantastically, the dynamic duo deliver real winners!
