Summary
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Forget everything good you’ve been told about love,
Because, none of it’s true.
You don’t agree? Spend a day in my shoes and you’d curse love, too.
My name’s Blue. Yes, you read that right. Blue Daniels.
And I hate love. I despise every single thing about it.
In my 32 years on this Earth, it has brought me nothing but heartbreak and disappointment. Love is a void. Something we’re taught we need if we want to live a happy and fulfilled life.
Well, I disagree.
Some say I’m a cynic. Others call me the smartest woman they’ve ever met. But no matter what anyone says, I know what I need. And love is not it.
Enter Harris Avery.
A man who thinks he can have anyone he wants, including me.
A man who reminds me daily why I swore off love in the first place.
He walks around the office like he owns the place, throwing that sexy smirk of his at every female he passes. He thinks no one is immune to his charm. But poor Mr. Avery has never met a girl like me before.
I’m more likely to throw myself off a bridge than at his feet.
There’s just one problem.
He’s decided to make it his mission to prove me wrong.
To that, I say, "Let the games begin..."

Fun and cute
I enjoyed this book, it was fun. Blue is having a hard time letting go and revealing her true feelings. Harris and Blue make a bet that they are both sure they will win. Who does?? HEA. The narration was great I recommend this book.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Enjoyable & Heartfelt!
I enjoyed this book immensely, the story is a fabulous delight, a perfect weekend read or listen. Melissa Toped is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, her story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. Her characters continually develop throughout the story, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Past experiences with men has made Blue Daniels a cynic when it comes to love. She does not think to highly the new comer in her office, Harris Avery, a charmer and star amongst the women at work. She steers clear of him and his kind, but he has his eye on her and was waiting to make his move. When opportunity arises he does just that and makes it a challenge for Blue, one she can not back down from. He is determined to win her over, she is determined walk away. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, humor, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Melissa Toppen, thank you for this wonderful story, the witty dialogue and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lisa Woodward a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. She did an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions and personality. She covered the voices for all the characters, performed both the male and female roles giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor flawlessly. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

Cute fun listen!
This audiobook was funny at points and I really enjoyed listening to Blue overcoming her aversion to love. Harris turning into an incredible loving and caring guy from his prior hound dog ways once he and Blue made there silly bet. It had a twist that made it interesting and gave us a greater sense of how important Blue and Harris had become with one another.
It had elements of enemy to lover genre yet not really. Love at first chance kinda too. And the secondary characters may deserve a book of their own.
Leanne Woodward is a new narrator for me. I really enjoyed her female characters and her performance made this a really enjoyable experience.
I was gifted this audiobook and I’m leaving my honest review.

Romance and flowers
If you are looking for a fun, sweet listen, look no further. Melissa Toppen has Violets are Not Blue for you! Violet is not looking for a relationship. Ever. Hurt before and deciding what her priorities are, men just don't make the cut. In comes Harris, the player, the one that no one says no to. They make a dating bet, but who is going to be the winner? Harris has found the one for him, but will he be able to convince Violet he is all in and not like the others? This is the kind of listen I love on the weekends. It's low angst, high on humor and romance and has characters that are easy to love. Harris is wonderful. Moving into a relationship for him seemed easy. Violet is a tough cookie, and isn't sold on the change. Trust is a big issue for her. The flowers and poems, the date nights and fun romantic times had me sold.
Leanne Woodward brings out all the humor and good times with a fabulous narration. Easy to listen to, her voices are distinct and flow with ease. I enjoy her pace and her variety of voices. She always makes my ears happy.

So much fun
This delivers with plenty of heat and humour and really enjoyable characters. I loved the characters changing and growing as their relationship grew. They are intriguing and unique. I also loved the narration. The voices had clear distinction so I knew who was speaking and the pacing was so very on point.
This story is definitely one that I want to listen to again. Absolutely loved it
