1265
England has a new master.
Simon de Montfort's victory at the Battle of Lewes has made him king in all but name. He has vowed to restore the rights and liberties of the kingdom, but now even his friends grow wary of his power.
As old alliances break down, new rebellions gather strength. The captive king's supporters muster, vowing to overthrow the new regime.
Meanwhile Adam de Norton, who won the honour of knighthood on the field at Lewes, has reclaimed his ancestral lands. A peaceful and prosperous future lies before him - until he receives a summons he cannot refuse.
War is inevitable. But this time, will Adam be on the winning side?

haven't finished a book faster than this one
this book guides you through the mid portion of the 2nd barons war with a great narrative that has you hooked from chapter to chapter.
the narrator is great as well, he juggles a great many characters ,their unique personalities and voices superbly.

A poignant and deadly sequel
After listening to Battle Song I knew I had to find out what happens next. Luckily, I wasn’t waiting long and ordered War Cry on the first day of release. I was hugely engulfed from the first page leading off from where the last book ended. The brilliant characterisation of ‘chivalric’ characters comes to a crashing, and though I knew the history, still a shocking end. We follow main character Adam De Norton, the hugely charismatic and fan favourite Robert De Dunstanville and the majestic overlords of the land. It has all be brought together and narrated perfectly by Nathaniel Priestley who has quickly become one of my favourite narrators. I’m hoping for a book 3 but in the meantime I will definitely be checking out Ian Ross’s other work.

Another fantastic story was a very good narrator. However, audio quality was a bit muffled.
I was eagerly and anticipating the second book in the series, and I was not disappointed.
The only slight problem I had, was that the actual sound quality was a bit muffled.
As other than that, a wonderful story.
