About this listen

Come with us to an Enchanted Place, a forest where Winnie-the-Pooh lived with Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, and Little Roo. The stories are about Christopher Robin and these good companions having wonderful times getting in and out of trouble. It is all very exciting and, really, quite thrilling no matter how young or old you may be. It is painful to try and imagine what the world would be like without them.

Blackstone Audiobooks presents, from the unabridged collection A.A. Milne's Pooh Classics, the 10 stories of Winnie-the-Pooh performed by Peter Dennis. This is the only reading of these immortal stories authorized by A.A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin, who wrote, "Peter Dennis has made himself Pooh's Ambassador Extraordinare and no bear has ever had a more devoted friend. So if you want to meet the real Pooh, the bear I knew, the bear my father wrote about, listen to Peter."

This collection includes the chapters:
In Which We Are Introduced to Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees, and the Stories Begin
In Which Pooh Goes Visiting and Gets Into a Tight Place
In Which Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting and Nearly Catch a Woozle
In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One
In Which Piglet Meets a Heffalump
In Which Eeyore Has a Birthday and Gets Two Presents
In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest, and Piglet Has a Bath
In Which Christopher Robin Leads an Expotition to the North Pole
In Which Piglet is Entirely Surrounded by Water
In Which Christopher Robin Gives a Pooh Party, and We Say Goodbye

Critic reviews

"This program exemplifies the potential quality audio has for complementing text. Soothing music introduces and links the stories and verses. Subtle sounds of nature immerse the listener in Pooh's world and provide a backdrop for Peter Dennis' enchanting performance. Dennis' ability to switch characters and moods allows him to accurately portray the range of characters in the stories. These talents shine prominently....Dennis expresses the multitude of emotions in a childlike tone which is key to the success of the program. All ages will enjoy this marvelous performance of Milne's words." ( AudioFile)
"Congratulations on your outstanding contribution to children and their families. The sort of growth your work inspires speaks for emotional, ethical, and character development." ( Parents' Choice)

Wonderful telling of the tales

I couldn’t imagine a better narrator for these tales as every voice and affectation perfectly suited each character. This is best aimed at new parents as it shows a truly masterful way of making bed time stories come to life

Tao

Was very nice with the exception of pig noises. It’s been said in other reviews and it’s right. Still was very peacefully narrated and lovely.

Brilliant other than annoying piglet sound

This was such a lovely reading, I just wish that the grunting sound hadn’t been added, annoying if you are trying to relax and rest with the book. Other than that, brilliant.

Story is a joy

The narrator is just not for me. In my head I have a Winnie the Pooh voice and it’s not this one. Piglets snorting adds no value.

Utterly calming

I have read all the reviews on this book and some of them are utter rubbish !!!
Ok piglets grunts are a tiny little bit annoying when you first start to read it but their fine after a wile !!
But seriously Peter Denis is an AMAZING narrator and I understand that the book isn’t to every one’s liking but saying he is a terrible narrator !!They have gone to far!!!
