Summary

Do you struggle to convince people you’re right? Do you want to learn the techniques to convince people of your point of view and learn to speak the language that changes minds? Then keep reading....

As a quiet, bullied boy who lacked confidence, Magnus Macarthy struggled to get his voice heard when competing with the more confident students in his school and was often dismissed as an intelligent underachiever. This was until he learned Rhetoric or ‘The Language That Changes Minds’, and that’s when his life changed.

Not only did Macarthy become more confident, he ultimately became a highly successful speechwriter for prominent individuals in business and Politics.

Macarthy wrote all of his speeches under alias names, but as a ghostwriter, Macarthy built and refined his skills over his 20-year career.

Macarthy has remained an unknown but very powerful presence in the world of rhetoric until now...

“In an orator, the acuteness of the logicians, the wisdom of the philosophers, the language almost of poetry, the memory of lawyers, the voice of tragedians, the gesture almost of the best actors, is required. Nothing, therefore, is more rarely found among mankind than a consummate orator.” (Cicero)

In this informative book, you'll discover:

  • The techniques to use to make people believe you’re right.
  • Why with great power comes great responsibility.
  • How to think of what to say whilst on the spot.
  • The power of mixing certain techniques.
  • How these techniques can be applied to online as well as offline life.
  • Where these techniques are used today and
  • How to spot and defend yourself against them.

Not a business book

Listened to the full book, some good points made around story telling but not enough examples around business to justify being in the business category
