Summary
Lola Sphinx is beyond excited when she learns her mermaid best friend Nawfar has inherited a magical ring that allows her to walk on land for short periods of time. Along with the young fairy Thicket, they head out on a hike and come upon a strange, magical gate that opens up into a new world.
While enjoying themselves at a roller rink, the local DJ is suddenly murdered, and somehow, Lola, Nawfar, and Thicket find themselves in the middle of everything, while also trying to get back home in time before Nawfar reveals her true identity!
A perfect short cozy for when you need a few minutes to immerse yourself with magic, mystery, humor, and mischief!

Witchy splash
I did enjoy this book but found it annoying that in the middle you are asked to leave a review. Other than that the story was fun and I liked the characters. The story is a bit short, so after listening to this book I went straight onto the next book, especially as the book kind of finished on a cliff hanger.
Lola's best friend is a mermaid, there time together revolves around spending time at various water holes, that is until Nawfar inherits a magical ring that gives her legs for a short while. To celebrate they decide to take a hike and end up going through a magic gate and end up a roller skate rink. While Nawfar gets use to her human legs there is a murder and Lola and her friends stick around to help the non magic people solve the mystery.
The narrator does a good job and it is always easy to tell who is speaking.

lived this
quick and sweet but could of done without the author interrupting for reviews twice. Once would be ok but was tedious as repeated. I appreciate the need for reviews and do review out of respect.
