Bewitching
I enjoyed this book. I must admit I started listening to book five and was getting lost because so much seemed to have happened that I wasn't a where of, I then read the blurb and found I was on the wrong book. So went back to this book and was immediately hooked (so much better in the right order). The book continues on from book two and in this book you learn a little bit more about Bailey's adoption and her birth mother. Which nicely balances out the story because it leads to it own problems. The mystery was interesting and although not a huge amount of suspects to choose from I liked following the clues left behind. I also really the mystical element and reason for the caves existence. Off to start book four and then maybe book five will make more sense.
The Seven caves is closed while an eccentric archaeologist explores the caves where Bailey works. Giving her time to find out why her friends have become distant and seem to be avoiding her. The archaeologist makes some startling discoveries and has seems to know more about the caves than he should and promises to write a tell all article. The caves are actually doorways to another realm and the other doors holding back what is behind has already collapsed. Before he can do the exposa he is found dead with a pen belonging to Bailey's adoptive father laying beside him. She is shocked when he is arrested for the murder and will need all the help she can get from her coven of witches and even from a few wizards. The archaeologist journal is missing, can they use that to track down the killer? And if they do just what will they find? And what will happen if the archaeologist is right about the doors?
The narrator puts a lot of effort into her story telling to make it exciting.
