Summary

Outstanding!
This book really touched me as my mother is white, and my father was black. I'm a light, honey colour which I've always been pleased with. I have never experienced much racism in my life but I have witness it many times with friends who had darker skin than me. The sad thing about this book is that it's definitely true that a white life is easier.(Especially for men)
A prime example of this is my sister has a black son, whereas my child's father is white so my child looks Spanish or Greek with a light tanned skin and hazel eyes.
My sister's son has been unjustly arrested or stopped by the police multiple times, and ofc my child has never been stopped a day in their life. I knew when I was pregnant that my child would have an easier life than my darling nephew since the world would see them as white. I didn't make this choice on purpose, I just fell in love with a white man. I'm sure if we'd been offered this service, and particually if I was carrying a boy, I'm sure I'd consider such a terrible thing. (I would 100% have had chosen a white son, over a black one if I lived in America!) What a tragedy that is.
This wouldn't surprise me one bit if this service was availible one day, along with picking eye colour, hair type, height etc. What a terrible world that would be if we picked and chose what we percieved to be the perfect child. This awesome little story has really scrabbled my mind, and a good book should always changed a person in some sort of way!
