#3: Prof. Justus Haucap (DICE/Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf)

  • Summary

  • In this episode, we interview Justus Haucap, a leading scholar in competition economics and Professor of Economics at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Justus reveals his greatest academic challenge, who inspired him the most, his secret to time management (hint: learn to delegate), who he loves to publish with, and also some surprising info about himself. He also explains why he left academia after his PhD for some time and shares with us his advice for young scholars (take risks and “…you should be really good and you should love what you do!”).

Justus is the director of the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE). In his research, he specializes in competition and antitrust, and the regulation of network industries and the digital economy.
