  • 24: Alcohol and The Brain
    Jul 18 2023
In this episode, I'm sharing an interview I did discussing how alcohol impacts the brain. I discuss recent research that demonstrates how even "moderate" alcohol consumption changes neural circuits in a way that leads to more impulsive and habitual behaviors even when not drinking. I discuss how alcohol disrupts the gut microbiome, negatively impacting serotonin and dopamine, which regulate your mood in positive ways. I also talk about the deeper subconscious beliefs and unresolved emotions/traumas that may be contributing to the desire/need for alcohol. Whether you drink or know someone who does, there's a lot of great information in this episode.   Special thanks to The Sober Summit and Maggie Klaassens for letting me share this interview.  https://www.thesobersummit.com/
