  • The 3 Causes of ADHD - New Research Revealed
    Sep 23 2024

Modern research has given us a really clear picture of what causes ADHD. So what causes ADHD? Is it genetics, bad parents, childhood trauma, or something else entirely? We're also going to answer the questions "is there a cure for ADHD", and "can you develop ADHD later in life". This will be based on both the most up-to date high quality research, as well as my training and work as a psychologist who works with many ADHD clients. • What is ADHD Brain Freeze + Solutions & Executive Dysfunction
    Jun 1 2024

In this video I'm going to teach you how to break ADHD brain freeze. ADHD brain freeze, is a symptom of the ADHD mind where you stare at a project, really wanting to begin, but you can't because your brain feels stuck. And it's similar to ADHD paralysis. ADHD Brain Freeze is caused by the Executive Function system in the brain becoming overwhelmed and thus freezing like an overwhelmed computer. Then that means the solutions need to be about minimizing internal mental strain by making the internal workings of the mind, external, make the mental physical. 00:00 ADHD Brain Freeze 00:48 Executive Functioning 01:32 An Example of Brain Freeze 01:58 Neurotypical Brains 02:23 Why ADHD Brains Work Differently 04:04 Executive Overwhelm 04:27 Bad Solutions 04:56 Good Solutions 05:43 Project Mapping 06:34 Reduced Sequence Strain 06:55 Reduced Timekeeping Strain 07:35 Reduced Self-Control Strain 08:14 Enjoyable Activities 09:09 Summary https://dantepsychology.com/ Socials: https://linktr.ee/DantePsychology I'm Dante, a registered psychologist from Australia. • Therapy that goes beyond just "breathwork"
    Jun 1 2023

I wanted to make a quick video discussing the process of actual effective therapy. A complain/comment that I've encountered as a working mental health clinician and one that I encountered again today in a Reddit threat about signs of a bad therapist, was that people have seemingly encountered therapists who do nothing but breathwork or grounding/calming strategies. While calming strategies clearly have a place, and ensuring that people know about them is helpful, this isn't the bulk of therapy (or at least it shouldn't be). Finding out the reasons that are causing someone's problems (external or internal) and finding resolutions and strategies for those problems should be the collaborative approach of a client and clinician. If you have any questions, drop a comment and I'll be sure to respond. Discord: https://discord.gg/CsNwGcUKUf
