  • Star Wars Mega-Sode!
    Oct 11 2024

Hello there. This week, in a galaxy far, far away, we talk about the Star Wars Franchise ! While Star Wars itself is a not a adapted work, it has had many adaptions into different media. From TV to video games and even books. Star Wars has seen many different stories told over the decades. However, not every single one has been the diamond in the rough that the original trilogy was. It has usually been one step forwards and then some massive steps back. Some will say this is due to Disney buying out Lucasfilms to continue the universal trek into other galaxies is the reason for the lack of quality. So Join us and our friend. The1Troj, this week as we discuss all things Star Wars! Will we get consistently confused with the continuously confounded and complex choices made by Disney or will we see that these shows and games are indeed the droids we are looking for.

  • Fallout
    Jul 12 2024

Greetings Wastelanders, and welcome to Does It Adapt?! This week we are discussing the post apocalyptic terrains and radioactive waters of the world of Fallout. This is considered by many to be the best video game franchises out there and is beloved by many for its 1950's esque look, music and setting. While the games all have their own story, this show decides to forgo retelling any particular story and gives itself its own identity. But does this adaption succeed in starting a flame in our hearts or does this radically radiation ridden journey experience its own Fallout?

  • Ready Player One
    May 10 2024

On this weeks episode, we dive into the 8-bit world of Ready Player One!

This very popular novel from 2011 is set in a dystopian world everyone uses the OASIS as an escape!

The OASIS, similar to todays vr headsets, allows its user to visit fantastical worlds of pop culture and fantasy.

This book is considered to be amazing to most but not all the same feelings are shared about the movie adapted by Steven Speilberg.

So will this pixelated, pioneering, pop culture power trip succeed? or will the plethora of pointless, pathetic cameos and problematic plot changes poison the original product?

Warning! This episode will contain major spoilers for the books and strong language!

On this weeks episode, we look into the adaptions of the beloved animated series, Avatar the last Airbender! This animated show is truly a diamond in the rough in many people's eyes and they hold this series in high regard. It features characters that are easy to connect with a great storytelling and humor! However, with such popular status, this meant that a live action adaptions were inevitable. We will look at two adaptions, the recent Netflix adaption and the .... sigh.... M Night Shyamalan movie. Will we wish this wonderful world stayed whimsically animated or do we feel that the live action adaptions, like the avatar, have saved the world?

Warning! This episode will contain major spoilers for the show and strong language!
