Episode 39: Panthers Legacy is Regeneration

  • Summary

  • Welcome back to the podcast where research and knowledge are secondary to the ramblings of an old man and the occasional appearance of his teenage son.

On today's bite-sized edition, we discuss the outcome of the NRL Grand Final, and the part that the Panthers junior system and regeneration has played in serving them up an amazing five straight Grand Final appearances and of course a fourth consecutive premiership. And after just three teams winning over the last ten years we discuss whether this is a good thing for rugby league as a whole.

We also discuss the Kangaroos team for the upcoming international series, and whether or not the changes made are in the best interests of the team.

We then move to the cricket season, with Pakistan hosting England in an enticing three Test series. We discuss the possibilities available. The Women's T20 World Cup is underway, and already with shock losses and umpiring decisions. We cast a glance at the early days of the tournament. And the Sheffield Shield is about to start, leading into the home Test summer. We look forward to that with glee.

For those of you still here, thanks for listening to Peters and Peters, the podcast where knowing about sport is secondary to the ability to talk rubbish about it.
