In episode 25, Annie and Beth are discussing the death penalty, also known as capital punishment. The pair have covered a lot of case studies recently, so this is a Discussing The Evidence episodes, which is a little different to the usual.

The Death Penalty is not something we carry out here in the UK, but it’s still an incredibly divisive topic and one intrinsically linked to true crime cases we discuss on a weekly basis.

The episode will provide an insight into the history of the sentence, crimes which can lead to the sentence, some statistics about the charge and the people who find themselves on death row, as well as some case study examples.
