Catherine Mattice is the founder of Civility Partners, a full-service HR consulting firm partnering with organizations across the globe to help build positive and respectful cultures and turn around toxic cultures. Catherine is also an international speaker and author and is now a course instructor for LinkedIn. In this episode, Catherine offers valuable leadership and workplace culture advice. Something I found really interesting was how willing a leader can be to change their style - or not. An enormous part of leadership is self awareness and no matter how good someone is at generating results, I believe no company can afford the long-term costs of a toxic culture driven by an abrasive leader. When I first stepped into leadership, I was so focused on results that I was that abrasive leader. A lot of what Catherine talks about, I could see my younger self in.
