  • 24 - Luke Scheidecker (Wabash Valley College)

    On today’s episode we have Coach Luke Sheidecker. Luke has served as Assistant Director or Director of Basketball Operations at Southeast Missouri State University (on the men’s side) and at Southern Illinois University, where he transitioned to the women’s side. He’s also been an assistant coach at Indiana State University and head coach at Shawnee Community College, where he led one of the biggest turnaround seasons in NJCAA Women’s Basketball history—going from 0-27 to an incredible 30-3, winning both the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24 titles. Currently, Luke is the head coach at Wabash Valley College, where he’s coached over 50 players who have gone on to play at the four-year level, with more than 35 advancing to NCAA DI programs. Earlier this year, he was named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) Coach of the Year for two-year colleges.

Since 2016, he’s been with the San Diego State University women’s basketball program, where he currently serves as an assistant coach and Assistant Athletic Director of Women’s Basketball Operations. In 2024, he was recognized as one of the 50 most impactful assistant coaches by Silver Waves Media.

    On today’s episode we have Coach Tom Shirley. Coach Shirley has experience as a head coach at Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales (now DeSales University). He is currently the head coach at Thomas Jefferson University (formerly Philadelphia University); where he is entering his 35th season. In his time at Jefferson, Coach Shirley has guided the Rams to 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, five Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championships, two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference crowns, and two New York Collegiate Athletic Conference titles. In 2014, 2023, and 2024 he was named the CACC Coach of the Year. He is the winning-est coach amongst active NCAA DII coaches.
