Remember, Andrew, you are forgiven. You’re loved by your Heavenly Father. There is a purpose for your life.

I have to remind myself of these truths because I’m prone to wander. I wander away from the mercy of God. And easily get discouraged and miss out on the gifts and the thriving life that He has for me, unless I allow those truths to correct my thinking.

And the best friends in my life also remind me of the truth. When I forget who I am, they remind me of who God made me to be. And if I ever make excuses for my bad behavior. Believe me, they’re right there, holding up a mirror so I can see the truth about myself and my actions. And they point me back to the truth of God.

Think about the friends in your life who don’t yet know the truth about Jesus. You know the truth of what awaits them in a life without God.

Will you do the loving thing for your friends and share God’s truth with them?

One of my greatest joys in life is going to places where people may not have heard about the goodness of God.

They might not see God as loving. They might have been taught that God is an angry taskmaster or a hard judge. Or He is a god that needs to be appeased. They don’t understand that His love is so deep that He gave His life for them.

Do you remember when you heard that God was good and kind? That He was willing to forgive you, to help you, to comfort you? I pray you never forget that day.

Is there someone in your life that needs to hear this? Or maybe you’ve heard about God. But maybe today is the day you believe that He truly is who He says He is.

Sometimes we’re aware that people have linked Christ to other people or other ideas or actions that don’t reflect on who Jesus truly is.

But the truth of Jesus’ goodness persists. He is good. He is kind. He is loving beyond what we can ever comprehend.

And it’s okay if you need to make a clarification about that. You can say, “Look, I’m a Christian… that may not mean what you think it means. I’m a follower of Jesus. Can I tell you about how He’s changed my life?”

You don’t need to immediately convince or convict someone. The Holy Spirit does so much of that. You can simply be honest about what Jesus did for you when you were lost in sin…when you were suffering from the sickness of despair.

Every person has access to that same mercy Jesus offered you.

That’s His plan. Us! You might be listening to me and think: Well, that’s you, Wendy. Not me. I just need to live my life.

But if you walk with Jesus, if you know Him, you are called to represent Him to the world. You carry the Light of Life in you.

Paul asked the question in Romans 10. He says, “How can people hear about Jesus without someone preaching to them?” That word “preach” just means to proclaim, to tell.

I know there is someone in your life who needs to hear that God is good. Use your mouth to tell them how good God has been to you.

And when you love someone, you want what’s best for them. You don’t just sit around hoping things work out; you take action. And you talk to them about it, even if it’s tough. You hold out hope for them, even when they do not.

If we hold back from sharing the Gospel, thinking that we’re being nice or polite or considerate…

Are we really? Are we being loving?

The apostle Paul was right when he said in Romans 10:14… …how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

Here’s the truth:

Sharing the Gospel is the most loving thing we can do. So, take a risk. Not out of duty, but for the sake of love. Decide to love your friends well by introducing them to the one who loves them the most.

Like you can’t rest unless every flaw and failure in your life is fixed?

Well, Jesus set us free from that kind of perfectionism. He knows… we will often fail. And we are flawed. And we sin. That’s why He sent His son to purchase our freedom…

Galatians 4 says… God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.

Do you want to become a son or daughter of God today, and live in His freedom?

You can pray, Lord, I confess I have failed and I have fallen short. But, today I want to become Your child. I want to love and follow You as the Lord of my life. Please come and set me free and give me new life. In Jesus name, Amen.

And from that moment on, He has been and always will be the light of the world.

Light makes things clear; light exposes, it guides, it reveals, and it penetrates. AND light is always stronger than the darkness.

At the end of time, when we’re with the King in eternity, we’re told there will be no need for sun or moon to shine because the glory of God will give light. And the Lamb will be its lamp.

The Lamb is Jesus—the ONE, the very light of the world, who laid down His life for the world. The LIGHT has come!

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.

I want to challenge you today to let go of the things that you know are holding you back.

Pray with me,

Jesus, forgive me for everything… all my sins. I need Your help to get unstuck from these old habits and all the temptations that are destroying me. And I cannot do it without You. I am trusting You today; help me. And thank you. Amen.
