    A conversation with Vipin Vijayan who currently works for IBM in Halifax. He is of Indian origin and grew up in Oman in the Middle East. He shares how he ended up working for IBM after studying business (banking, finance, corporate and securities law) at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. He shared what prior work experiences he has had, and how they contributed to his decision of studying business. He shared his experience negotiating salaries and keeping his options open before he selected IBM to work.

    Vipin also gave us some tips on how to become successful and build ourselves in our jobs. He shared his recipe (principles) that has helped him grow within his team and organization. He also shared some interesting tips for international students and gave us some overview of how to proceed in Halifax as an international student. He also shared his hopes and expections with his career and offered help to anyone who has any questions. Ivan works as a Black Student Advisor at Mount Alison University in New Brunswick. Ivan shares his journey from Kampala, Uganda to coming to Atlantic Canada. He talks about thinking differently from his peers in Uganda and choosing to do Undergraduate studies in 'Gender & Women studies'. He shared how he 'Made it' in Atlantic Canada and how he attracted opportunities to work during his studies at Dalhousie University.
