"Knee Deep: My ACL Recovery Journey"
Welcome to *Knee Deep*, where I share the story of my recovery after ACL surgery. This podcast is all about the steps I took to rebuild my strength—starting small and working my way back to full fitness, with a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor activities.
In each episode, I dive deep into the four key stages of my recovery:
Step 1 – Kicking Off Recovery at Home: I’ll walk you through the gentle exercises I started indoors to get my knee moving again, with my fitness coach helping me set realistic, achievable goals. Even in those early days, short walks outside to breathe in fresh air were essential to keeping my spirits high.
Step 2 – Taking It Outside: As my strength grew, I began exploring the outdoors—easy hikes, park workouts, and being in nature became crucial for my mental and physical recovery. With my coach’s help, I balanced these outdoor adventures with indoor strength training to stay on track without pushing too hard.
Step 3 – Mixing It Up: Once I got stronger, I started pushing my limits with more dynamic outdoor activities like cycling and trail running, while still focusing on building strength indoors. This stage was all about finding the right blend, and my coach was instrumental in adjusting my workouts to make sure every session counted.
Step 4 – Finding My Groove: Finally, I’ll share how I found my rhythm, mixing indoor and outdoor exercises to return to my favorite activities. With a solid plan and new goals, I’ve discovered a sustainable approach to staying fit and happy.
