Jonathan Hermawan – Balancing culture, life and burnout

  • Summary

  • In this episode of LONGLINE we sit down again with the multitalented Jonathan Hermawan – musician, podcaster, schoolteacher, motor mechanic, and Indigenous youth advocate – to hear his advice around balancing the demands of cultural expectations and everyday life - while avoiding conflict and burnout. This discussion touches on the struggles of staying connected to Indigenous cultural responsibilities in a post-colonial world. And the many pitfalls for those who may become overwhelmed by the expectations placed on Indigenous people living in Australia.
