Love Languages: You look like a clown

  • Summary

  • Denise discusses The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. She doesn’t agree or disagree with it, but wanted to discuss if they were valid. Jenna did some reflecting after Denise suggested she take a test to find her love languages. “It was clear I had been in relationships and friendships where we had different ways of receiving love. I use to date this guy in my early 20s that sent me gifts all the time. It’s not one of my love languages. I never appreciated it.” Denise feels people have certain love languages because that’s how they want to be loved or how they were raised. Jenna shares a professional contact asked her about love languages over the summer, which she found weird. “Letting people in close to me is hard because of issues with my ex-husband. Ask my friends how long it took to get close to me.” The girls talk inner-circle and how everyone communicates. “Get to the point. Put up or shut up. Don’t tell me you’re in your head. I’m going to ask you what the problem is. I don’t want to overcomplicate life.” The girls discuss how difficult relationships can be. “I never realized how complicated relationships are until we started this podcast.”
