  • Summary

  • Make sure the kids aren’t around! Just because you’re a grown-up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the art of the children’s bedtime story. Nick Offerman presents this collection of 15 short stories written in the style of a classic kid’s tale, but with a decidedly dark and adult approach.

What really happened after Snow White died, from the perspective of the one medically trained dwarf? A naive wizard professor reports back from the trenches of an underprivileged school of magic. A middle age man is haunted by the voices of his own aging body.

The stories will make you laugh, cry and probably squirm a little. All performed by actors like Patrick Stewart, Alia Shawkat, Ellen Page, Mike Birbiglia, and many more.

Some stories I really enjoyed

Some of the stories are really good and cleverly play on real life. Good performances in general and I love Nick Offerman.

Not for me

Not for me at all. But it's free so why not have a
listen. Best just leave it if you don't like the first one as they are all in the same style.

Not car audio friendly

Listened to two stories in the car but have to manually skip to the next story. Good job I was in traffic! Shame as looks good.

Very Enjoyable

Some stories held my attention more than others. Some were laugh out loud funny. A great concept.
All narrators were engaging and did their tales justice.

Intelligent Fun. Stand out stories in my review.

Nick Offerman is Great in the intros!

Alien Integration was my favourite story idea.Could be made into a series. Cartoon or film in B Movie style. Loved the story telling and great fx. The Giving Child will resonate knowingly with those who care for someone and has a wicked Tales of The Crypt twist. Aisling Bea's reading of Amelia Bedelia is engaging. She does brilliant accents and maintains them throughout. Lily and Georgie's story was a wonderful mix of Hansel and Gretel in the style of Roald Dahl read beautifully by Ratchel Dratch. The sound fx and music perfectly complimented the reading. Beg for Mercy was a good story read excellently by Gary and finally Doc was a great spin on a classic fairy tale. This story idea also has series potential. The ones not mentioned were more nonsensical with a smattering of toilet humour which I would have enjoyed when I was 17. Great production of overall!!
