Our Island Story, H.E. Marshall - Chapter 12

  • Summary

  • "After King Uther Pendragon's death, Britain was in turmoil. Merlin proclaimed that the rightful king would be revealed by a miracle. A sword appeared in a stone with the inscription: 'Whoso pulleth out this sword is rightwise king born of all England.' Many tried and failed, but young Arthur, serving as a squire, pulled the sword out with ease. Thus, Arthur was revealed as the true king and crowned amidst great rejoicing."
