    Welcome to Resident Voices: Celebrating Power, Pride, and Belonging hosted by Rob Lee.

    In this first episode Rob is in conversation with Mr. Charles Eaves. Mr. Eaves is a prominent member of the community.  He is a leader and the CEO of “Bridging The Gap (BTG).”  BTG was created by Mr. Eaves from recognizing the needs in the community.  The focus is to build bridges that will help improve resident’s lives through effective community resources and initiatives.  Some of his work includes: education workshops on OPIODS; bringing the Mayor to the Center to provide updates about the city; developing relationships with city constituencies to assist with getting needs addressed (i.e., a glass enclosure at the bus stop for the residents); and providing emergency food to the community (especially during the height of COVID).  Mr. Eaves linked with World Central Kitchen during COVID and distributed the food daily to residents.  Also, Mr. Eaves participates in the Senior Café at Mayfair.
