• Revelation - Worship the Lamb - 2025 - Persevere in Faith - The Book of Revelation - The Things That Must Soon Take Place
    Jan 5 2025
Revelation is a book about the perseverance of God’s people by faith in the last days. Jesus gave us seven letters to his church in chapters 1-3 and now he will begin to reveal what must soon take place in the world in the rest of the book as his kingdom comes. We will begin the second part of our study with Revelation 4-5. These are two of the greatest chapters in the Bible that pull the veil back on the throne room of heaven and show us the worship of the Godhead that is eternally ongoing. These chapters also teach us to worship God the Father for his sovereignty and creation, as well as to worship the Lamb for his sacrifice on the cross. Together, God the Father, through the work of the Son, empowered by the Spirit has brought about our redemption and is ushering in God’s Kingdom in the entire cosmos. The message of these chapters is that God the Father and Christ the Lamb are worthy of all our worship!

  • Whispers of His Coming - Love - 2024 - Whispers of His Coming
    Dec 22 2024
Love is an attribute of God himself. As the Bible claims, God is love. If you enjoy being loved in any capacity, that love is meant only to be a shadow of the true source of love, God himself. The birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ are meant to be a love letter from God to all of humanity. God showed his love for us in that he did not leave us in this broken world and our sin, but rather came to rescue us and lay down his life for us. The Bible points to these actions of God in Christ as the very definition of what it means to love. In the Christmas season, God’s invitation to us in Jesus is to come and be loved. Experience the unconditional, never wavering, all-encompassing, grace infused love of God in Jesus. God loves us because of nothing in ourselves, but rather because he chose us in Jesus. It is this great love of God for us that we celebrate as we gather as the church.

  • Whispers of His Coming - Joy - 2024 - Whispers of His Coming
    Dec 15 2024
We continue our Advent preaching series looking at Joy from Isaiah 9:1-7. What we see in Isaiah is the experience of joy is like coming out of gloom to the glory of God, it is a walking out of darkness into the light, moving from anguish to joy! Joy is a settled and sure happiness arising from God’s presence in our lives and a surety in the good works he is doing in our lives and in the world. Furthermore, God takes joy in the task of saving us! Part of the wonder of Christ’s birth is that it brings the possibility of real joy into our lives and our world. Let's celebrate with joy what God is doing through Jesus!

  • Whispers of His Coming - Peace - 2024 - Whispers of His Coming
    Dec 8 2024
This week we are continuing our Advent Series, Whispers of His Coming, looking at Peace in Zechariah 9:9-10. The days when Zechariah prophesied were interesting times for Israel. They were back in the land after the exile, had a rebuilt temple, but still faced the oppression of a foreign nation and no real King to speak of. No doubt there was a lack of peace for the nation. However, Zechariah prophesied of a coming day when a Divine King would bring peace to the nation of Israel and all the nations of the world. Mathew 21:1-11 cites Zechariah to tell us that Jesus is the Divine King Israel has hoped for. Peace in our day, both in the world and in our own hearts, can be very elusive. Even the Christmas season with all its busy hustle and bustle can steal our peace. As we celebrate and remember the birth of Christ, let’s focus once again on Christ’s birth that is meant to reveal the peace that is available to us in the Gospel.

  • Revelation Ch 3c - The Letter to the Church in Laodicea - 2024 - Persevere in Faith - The Book of Revelation
    Nov 24 2024
Join us as Pastor Jared continues our series in Revelation. We will complete the first section of the book of Revelation as we look at the seventh and final letter from Jesus to the Church in Laodicea in Revelation 3:14-22. This is a great letter to consider as we move into the Holiday season because in it Jesus is really asking us the question, “What do you value most in life?” We will see in this letter how our prosperity can lead us to a lukewarm faith that blinds us to our true spiritual need of Jesus. The remedy is to experience God’s love toward us in Christ, Repent of our apathy, and learn to be Zealous for Jesus.
