  • Was 3rd overall. Felt good all race, was actually taking it easy not trying to blow up. Course is very nice and fun. Only ate 300-500 calories whole race. So way behind on food once again. I was cruising along running comfortably. I went off course around mile 25.5ish right before the last aid station. It cost me the race. Went maybe half mile off before realizing it. So had to back track. Cost me solid 10 plus minutes. Right as I realized I was doing the one loop for 3rd time I pulled pants down side of the trial and pooped real quick. Just grab bunch of wet leaves to wipe instead of wasting time getting out my wetwipes in waistpack. So last 5ish miles I did have some tree litter in my shorts. I pooped cause i knew I was gonna have to go super fast to try to catch back up to anyone who got ahead of me. So I burnt ton of energy once I hit the aid station after back tracking to go right way. Really upset with myself because of the mistake. But i also think the sign was taken down there indicating to go the way I was supposed to. But lots of fun on the course super runnable. I easily could have knocked 15 or so minutes off time if i pushed earlier and if I knew course.
