• Episode 4 - Beating the Hayd-er Allegations with Hayden
    Jul 3 2022

Hello and welcome back, everyone! We are here again with episode 4 of season 1 (now 5 in total, wow) and my friend Hayden came on to chat about media he enjoys! Hayd did not feel like music would be a medium by which he would want to convey his ideas, so we gave him a couple additional clips from film and television to play in place of that. We spanned quite a few topics, from his favorite Rogue One scene to Invincible as well as an ICONIC fight from classic Naruto and a pinnacle of Avatar: The Last Airbender as well. Given that we stayed to one style of medium, we did explore each video in a bit more detail dependent upon them and had some great tangential conversations along the way! :)

As always, a huge thank you to today's guest and anyone tuning in! Links will be included below and I highly recommend that you give each a watch for their individual impacts as well as the content that they offer! Have a wonderful day and thank you again to all parties involved!

PS this is recorded on discord so bonus points to anyone who hears the very funny, very brief cameo from our friend Evan :-)

  • Episode 3: The Sky has Turned to Gold with RP
    Jul 1 2022

In this episode, my good friend RP and I discuss two of his favorite pieces of media in a song by Ray LaMontagne and a scene from Justified. RP offers great insight into his opinion on music and specifically the current state of country music as well as the series Justified and what makes the scene and show good to him. We discuss the importance of good writing and being able to connect with the audience. As always, links included and thank you to my guest and the audience :)

Warning momentary addressing of niche sexual anime content ironically.

    Jul 1 2022

Hello to everyone tuning in! In this episode, my good friend Ben came on to talk about a song and piece of media that particularly resonate with him. We explore the importance of authenticity in what you create and in your personal life as well! The song which is shared is a classic from Kid Cudi/WZRD as well as a clip from the anime To Your Eternity. A massive thank you to Ben for his time and insight and for being a wonderful guest. • Episode 1: Vulnerability with Kay
    Jun 30 2022

    Hello and welcome!

In today's episode my very good friend Kay came on to discuss what makes good media to them with a couple great examples. They share their one of their favorite artists (Frank Ocean, whom I am sure many people are familiar with) and a scene from The Midnight Gospel addressing life, death, and the idea of being vulnerable and how we cope with these grand concepts. As always, we want to thank Kay for taking time to join us and being a wonderful guest. Links to the song and video are included below :)

  • Episode 0: Setting the Table
    Jun 29 2022

Today my friend Shea and I discussed the ideas driving the podcast idea that I have been cultivating with friends for some time. Our hope is to get people to critically view the content that they consume and reflect on what makes good media. As a result, I hope to "set the table" by giving my opinions on my current favorite song and a particularly impactful scene from a popular anime that I enjoy. Through our exploration of these ideas we hope to get others to view what they enjoy through a critical lens and explore their own biases in media consumption!
