  • 110: Design Thinking: Human-Centered Problem-Solving With Sara Musgrove PhD
    Oct 31 2024

    Episode Type: Listen to Learn

Welcome to a listen-to-learn episode of the Share Life podcast. I'm speaking about Design Thinking with Sara Musgrove from the Riverbend Group. Design thinking is a human-centered and collaborative approach to solving complex problems.

Sara and I met a dozen years ago or so through her work at the Leaders Lyceum (a former client and a program I participated in). It's where I first discovered Constructive Developmental Theory.

Sara is a specialist in Design Thinking, a human-centered way to tackle problem-solving. She leads and trains leaders to optimize their influence and impact at The RiverBend Group. In this conversation about Design Thinking, she explains how it works and why organizations should be leveraging it. Design Thinking is both a framework and a Mindset and helps us think differently and early so that when we're executing, we're effective and efficient.

  • 109: Breaking Echo Chambers & Sacrificing Sacred Cows With Nathan Dohse
    Oct 18 2024

    Episode Type: Listen to Learn

Welcome to a listen-to-learn episode of the Share Life podcast. I'm speaking with Nathan Dohse, an educator, advocate, and speaker working in the music industry, in the Nashville area and who was on the podcast before. Today, we're going to talk about breaking echo chambers and sacrificing sacred cows.

The idea of this conversation began when I posted about Republicans for Harris. This garnered a strong reaction from my Facebook community. Nathan commented with the following message on my post.

"This breaks the echo chamber if nothing else. It creates cognitive dissonance within a community, which does more good than anything else you could possibly do. We do not have a responsibility or the right to change anyone else's mind. But we do have the responsibility to use the minds we have, and to encourage others to do the same. You are doing a great job of that!"

I said, let's do a podcast episode about that, and he agreed. Now, here we are!
