I was 37, already a neurologist for many years, the day my beautiful grandmother forgot how to get home. A home where I spent my happiest childhood days.

I knew then that I had to do more to help her, now living with Alzheimer's disease, and more for the people I was seeing in my practice, in ways that academic neurology at that stage did not offer.

There was so much research on what could be done to keep the brain healthy and mentally well. So much research on how to support better brain function, to reduce the risk of illness such as Alzheimer's disease, depression and stroke, but also to get the brain to function better, to learn and to remember, to solve problems and make decisions, to imagine and create different possibilities.

    The brain is incredibly powerful.

Welcome to Memorability the Brain Skills Podcast where I help you to unlock your brain's potential using practical neuroscience so that you can work through your challenges and make the most of your opportunities. I was 21 years old evangelising around Umtata.

Some of the people we met were hungry and I thought buying bread and milk would have helped them more at the time. This incident bothered me and is connected to the scripture in James 2 verse 26, "Faith without action is dead."

This scripture prepared me to seek ways of ensuring people do not go to bed hungry.

At a very young age, my family went through an incredibly traumatic experience. Not understanding the implications of that as a young child, this influenced many negative decisions in my life, leading to self-sabotage. After 30 years of repeating the same pattern, I decided to speak about it and get help during this journey. I realised how powerful the mind is, and that communicating and talking is the first step of this ladder to success.

I'm Sean Davey. Welcome to Wholeful, where wholeness can be found in being grateful. Solid Gold Podcasts and Audiobooks Website

My grandfather owned a trading store in a small village in Newcastle where he sold a variety of products. I have fond memories of being awakened by Coca-Cola and Albany bread trucks delivering their products. I was about 8 years old and I was already very brand conscious. I can still picture the captivating Mobil Gas advert featuring the red flying horse. I was drawn to that ad, and as I grew older I realised that my affinity for that brand and that of Coca-Cola was not coincidental. There was science to it. This piqued my curiosity leading me to pursue my in-depth study all the way to Masters level. Eventually, I founded my brand leadership company.

I am Bongi Bako. Welcome to Brand Boss, a podcast where we engage with conversations with esteemed brands and brand builders to help you build robust brands that will endure for the next 100 years. Solid Gold Podcasts and Audiobooks Website

I remember the first time I noticed that women get treated a little differently at work. I was six months pregnant and running out of breath to the office. Late, as usual. Visibly pregnant, I asked for a permission slip to park closer to the building. But I was told that I needed a handwritten note from my gynae. Awks, I know. But it was then that I knew that the person who I needed help from would never understand what it meant to compete at work while sleep-deprived and managing a household. Life can leave you on a sour note, you know, but it doesn't have to stay that way.

It was the Wolfsburg Questionnaire that did it.

The Wolfsburg Questionnaire is a list of some 150 questions sent by one bank to another on their initiatives to curb money laundering. Technically, it is supposed to reveal just how compliant the financial institution is that you're working for. But that is only one example of our global efforts to stamp out money laundering. The reality is that money laundering continues to grow exponentially and collusion, corruption, and confusion are only getting more sophisticated.

Welcome to The Laundromat, the podcast that talks to funding more or better initiatives to stamp out money laundering by applying good minds, young minds, controversial minds, and professional minds to this problem. You will be contributing to a more equal world where not only the rich are rich. Solid Gold Podcasts and Audiobooks Website
