  • In questa puntata descriveremo come un'operazione apparentemente molto semplice come quella di spostare un oggetto senza farlo ruotare rispetto all'ambiente circostante nasconda complicazioni sorprendenti. Infatti, tutti sappiamo spostare un quadro su una parete mantenendolo bene in squadra con la verticale o camminare su un campo di calcio con lo sguardo sempre rivolto alla porta avversaria, ma le stesse due azioni si rivelano molto più problematiche quando ci muoviamo su una superficie curva, come la sfera del nostro pianeta o una pista da sci con i suoi avvallamenti e dossi.

    Racconteremo poi come lo studio della regola che governa il modo di trasportare parallelamente gli oggetti abbia contribuito a rendere ancora più bella "la più bella delle teorie fisiche", la Teoria della Relatività Generale di Einstein, e anche come tale regola sia stata scoperta da un grande matematico italiano, Tullio Levi Civita, la cui storia personale non deve lasciarci indifferenti.
