The new Salem's Lot movie is a fantastic Gothic film, with all the hallmarks of the Gothic tradition! It is a great throwback to classic Horror filmmaking and gives us a good old-fashioned Vampire story the way they used to tell them! I loved it and it is now in my top 10 vampire movies of all time.

The Plot for Alien: Romulus
While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

My take is that Alien: Romulus, like Alien, is a perfect Gothic Science Fiction movie! It incorporates all the Gothic elements I’ve been discussing on this podcast, and leans into them, creating one helluva thrilling ride!

Overlord is a 2018 movie I adore and watch over and over! It is one of the best War/Horror films I’ve ever seen, possibly underrated. I rarely see discussions or reviews about this film on Horror sites or mentioned on Horror podcasts. This is a shame because it is so well-crafted, acted, and the set design and practical FX are a wonder to behold that blend with beautiful use of CGI!

Plot:

On the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to penetrate the walls of a fortified church and destroy a radio transmitter. As the soldiers approach their target, the outnumbered men stumble upon a sinister experiment that forces them into a vicious battle against an army of the undead.
