Spotlight Interview: Jaymes Paolo Rombaoa

  • In this episode Jonathan Aragon interviews Jaymes Paolo Rombaoa (he/him/his), BA., PhD student at Claremont Graduate University  (CGU). Jaymes is an adjunct lecturer for the Department of Psychology in the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University. He is also a doctoral student in the School of Social Science, Policy & Evaluation at CGU pursuing a PhD in Positive Developmental Psychology.

    Jaymes has many broad research interests that include mindfulness, positive psychology interventions, college students and higher education, the use of technology to regulate emotions, emerging adulthood populations, and figuring out “how to live your best life.” He also has an interest in advanced research and statistical methods, such as multilevel modeling, network modeling, structural equation modeling, experience sampling methods/ecological momentary assessments, and longitudinal data analyses. Currently, Jaymes is the webmaster and a research assistant for various projects in Dr. Saida Heshmati’s research lab (https://www.heshmatiwellbeinglab.com/) at CGU. Outside of academia, Jaymes enjoys running, playing too much Pokémon on his Nintendo Switch, jamming to EDM, 90s/2000s R&B/hip-hop music, indulging in pop culture references, practicing piano, and binge-watching anime during winter/summer school breaks.
