    This week we drop two stories together.

    The first is a personal follow-up to Brent's story of hitting rock bottom in a fishing incident. My story tells of a rafting trip that looked like it might end very badly. I was violently thrown from the raft while surfing the "Washing Machine" on the Gulley in West Virginia. I realized at one point my next breath would be to breathe in water and that would be my last.

    The second story is the the story of a wedding with a strange twist. Shane and Melissa find out the true definition of one flesh in the most unexpected place. A friendship forged on the baseball diamond survives the depths of disability. Grab a Kleenex. This story first appeared in "Chicken Soup for the Bride's Soul."
