  • Genesis 7 Review
    Sep 20 2023

Genesis 7. Within the last chapter, we found that the world is in disarray. A majority of the population are participating in acts of violence, abuse, and selfishness. It seems that humanity is falling deeper and deeper into sin to the point of possible self-annihilation. All hope seems lost until God sees Noah and his family. And thus, a plan is put into motion. God instructs Noah to build a considerable sized seaworthy vessel capable of housing Noah, his family, and the multitude of animals that would be brought on board in order to preserve life. A Flood was coming… As we continue with the story of the devastating, worldwide, Creation-reversing Flood, let us ask God for wisdom and guidance as we dissect this part of Scripture.

    Aug 21 2023

Genesis 6. Through the Fall of Adam and Eve, sin had entered the world. Both of their sons, Cain and Seth, were both affected by the choices of their parents, yet both followed different paths in life. As recorded, one familial line rebelled against their Creator while the other chose to pursue a relationship with God. Life and death, positive and negative, are intertwined. But where did all of this lead to? As we read and study the content within Genesis chapter six, let’s pray that we don’t seek to affirm our own beliefs, but rather, let’s open up our hearts to God’s wisdom and humble ourselves to receive such knowledge.

Genesis 5. Now, I know what you’re thinking… What can we learn from a genealogy? Again, whenever I first read the Bible all of the way through back in 2018, I tried to read these genealogies, but I eventually got into the habit of just skipping them, thinking that they didn’t mean much. However, after taking a deeper dive into this chapter, I see that there’s a lot more to discover underneath the surface.

    May 14 2022

Now we are left in the aftermath of sin. Adam and Eve have left the garden of Eden and are now living on a corrupted planet. Life and death are now intertwined. Roses have grown thorns, lions now hunt and devour gazelles, the earth itself rebels. Genesis chapter four seems to be a fulfillment of the results of sin after the Fall. In fact, from the end of Genesis chapter three and onward, most of Scripture will show and tell stories that contrast those who follow God versus those who follow self like Satan. And Genesis chapter four is just the beginning.

  • Genesis 3 Review
    Apr 30 2022

Genesis chapter three. Up until this point, we’ve experienced what life was intended to be. How things were supposed to be originally. Adam and Eve lived innocent lives as a married couple in paradise. A perfect, blissful, and peaceful existence where we could commune with God face-to-face any time was meant to be ours. But Genesis 3… is where it all falls apart… Genesis 3 is where we’re introduced to disappointment. Yet, that’s not all…

  • Genesis 2 Review
    Apr 23 2022

Genesis chapter two. In the last chapter, we got an overview of the six creation days from God calling forth light to the formation of man and woman. Yet the intended audience, the Israelites, might still have had some questions. After being reminded that the God that was leading them through the desert was the same God that created the starry night above them, the ground that they laid on, and everything in between, they might still have wondered exactly why or how mankind was created. So, although this chapter continues on from the last, more chronological chapter, where man and woman were one of the last subjects mentioned, it also rewinds and puts emphasis on the intimate creation of humankind from the start and tells of how God has always wanted a relationship with His children from the very beginning.

    Apr 16 2022

Genesis. The book of Beginnings. The book of Origins. The first book of the Bible and of the Old Testament. Most people see this title whenever they first begin their journey reading and flipping through the pages of the Holy Bible. However, it is also a piece of literature shrouded in mystery and misunderstanding. It’s easy to read and just take it at face value, which is fine, or it’s possible to even misinterpret it. But there is so much more behind the words written within the book of Genesis. Over four years ago, I had read each word of this book whenever I decided to read the Bible through in a year, yet I don’t believe I truly comprehended what I was reading at the time. Which is why I made the personal decision to dive deeper and read through slowly to hopefully reveal more of what God was wanting us to know. What He was wanting me to know individually.
