• The People's Patriot Project: Episode 234: “Strong - Woman Strong!” 10 March 2024 WGY6@6
    Jan 7 2025
WE had Justin Hesse, Army Nat Guard, still in now. .. worked in detention camps in Guantanamo Bay. Blue Line Fitness is his mission and business. Though they train to keep the peace, they are twice as likely to eat their own bullet. In this area, he helps cop dads keep their physical health while being aware of mental health. Family, personal and fitness life active. He was a full-time cop for 7 years, 4 seasons deputy cop still…. Growth was the word of the night! Both our guests want to continue their missions, and they are big on the word and taking the action :) We met Jovon Newmann on this episode, and what a fun time he is! He is Air National Guard, firefighter for the guard, and is now a recruiter. He writes music and runs his band. He would love to do this full time and keep his one weekend per month so that he is still connected. Jovon is working hard at this, and he and his band did 60 gigs this year, and he would love to keep doing this. The first song he shared was “Certified”. He wrote this for his wife after she surprised him with a trip to Nashville. First time there, and he fell in love, and she told him she believed in him and wanted him to see the city. He, in turn, wrote this song for her. The second song Jovon shared is called “Whiskey Love”. He and a good buddy put this together. They were explaining what love is, how it can be so good and so hurtful, and the emotional pieces. The video is done in an old local bar, and the environment seems just right. Jovon switched it at the last moment to Sully’s Pub down the road, and the owner was a firefighter as well and offered to have the video shot right there and then. This has become a hometown place to him. Jovon finished up by sharing his song, Loving You Back. This song has the perspective of leaving Philly and heading to Delaware … he was learning the new slower-paced lifestyle, and allowed him to fall in love with the country, or was it the girl? You find out when you listen to the song! • Episode 233: THE PEOPLE'S PATRIOT PROJECT “The Hill to Die On” 29 December 2024 WGY6@6
    Jan 3 2025
Well … this episode brings us to AJ Richards of From the Farm. This is a concept for the real world, where We the People take care of our people. To do this, we need to make good choices and make the healthy food available to everyone. This can be done, and it has been started with From the Farm. Now, this is maybe not for everyone, and AJ says it is not the Hill to die on, but we are the USA, and we are more than capable of taking care of our population. There are things out there that keep us from being and having the best of our own world, and we can be part of the solution if we work together! We also had a new and exciting guest on this show! Billy Ray Wheaton has been a great find for us, and he shared more than we even asked for. Billy Ray started out by sharing his service, and then put the experience into some of his songs. He also has an array of music that just straight up comes from the heart, and from the experieces of day to day life. Billy started out with one called Rusty Anchor. This is a place in St Pete - a little hotel place he never wanted to end up in and he found inspiration to write this song. The second song - written about a little too much PDA in a grocery store … We’re The Only Ones Dancin’ … should they have gotten the room? 🙂And then Billy Ray got stuck in traffic on the way to work one day … about 2.5 hours. This song was the outcome, at least the words. After putting music to it and sharing on YouTube, he found himself a hit! Maybe on same algorithm with that Oliver guy! “What it Means to be a Man” has taken its own growth!!! Billy Ray Wheaton comes from Plant City, Florida and he loves to write, play, sing and finds it as a great way to unpack and outlet after he retired from his service. That is a code that needs to be broken. Getting found is the big tough piece. As a service member, you are not boastful, and it is hard to get over it and get yourself out there. LOVE THIS! Dec 28 2024
Well … in this episode WE had a fun little conversation with Lottie Marie. She hails from Wisconsin, and we played nice. Lottie is a veteran advocate, and she shared her mission and her reasons for what she is trying to get done. She truly has a passion for helping veterans, and works as an advocate for them to get the help they need. A survivor of MST herself, Lottie has the experience of a warrior’s heart and that is what makes her such a great advocate for what she does. We also had Chuck Wimer on the show. He is fun and enlightening, and does not agree with Petersen about the Shiner Christmas … thats a different story. The 1st song Chuck shared, “Honky - Tonk Christmas”, was written in July, and not really in the mood yet, and then went into the crazy different climates across the state of Texas … from men in Speedos to all bundled up in winter gear in the northern part. In his own words, it is a fun song! The he shared this 2nd song called “Over Here”, and it was full of heartfelt hope that it will be understood as a song for veterans from veterans. In the third song called “Redemption”, there is a redemptive quality. This was a song released through choice and vote. It is dark, and not Chuck’s style, written by Charice Carter, and it turned out to be a hit. Chuck stuck around for our closing, so we shared a 4th song from him: “Sometimes”. This is about the communication between those you served with and always say you will get with them sometime, and then sometime never happens. His drummer was a dog handler in Irag and was crushed under a building and his therapy included drums …. Using all parts of the body. WE have some fun conversation with Doug Macedo on this episode. He shares all about Fubar Studio and what he is doing to support veterans and their troubles after coming back from the military. He has a connection with Racing, and he will tell us all about that growing mission as well. He is a true believer in the idea that being alone is not the answer, and we need our brothers and sisters to be taken care of. ISOLATION IS NOT THE ANSWER!! In this episode, we have Brian Larose on the show. He brought us some music, both live and MP3 format. Brian was a team sniper, got married and found his perspective changed. He got out and found that he could channel some of those post-military blues into music. It ended up turning into something bigger. The first song he shares is The Pines - although we messed this up and promoted it with the wrong title. We played this song with no introduction. The next song Brian played live. It is his song, Forever Young, and it was written after leaving the Army. It is about when someone loses their life overseas. There is a pre-deployment photo taken and when those soldiers pass, they stay the age of that photo forever. Forever Young. Brian's third song was also done live, and it is called Memory Lane. This was a song for his children. A child in their local community caught pneumonia and passed away. It was the unfortunate catalyst that led to him writing this song to his own children. It is a touching and somewhat haunting song that left some of the panel speechless. Well … this episode is one of those train wrecks you see coming, but there is no way to stop if from happening! Just kiddin’ - you get to hear the WeP3 team talk through a lot of issues facing us at the moment - from football to manning up and all the way to what it takes to make a commitment or goal and stick to it! We were planting seeds in the hopes that we can reach somebody that really needs to hear that it is okay to move backward while trying to keep moving forward. The music was choice again this week - and there were some awesome songs played along with planting seeds. You can first hear Mark’s choice: Scotty Hasting - How Do You Choose. Second was John’s choice and we had Mikele Buck - Irish Road. The last song of the night was Andrea’s choice and we played John Hensley - Days Where It Won’t Rain. You can’t ask for better music than what our first responders and military musicians are coming up with! Check it all out on WeP3 Radio! Dec 4 2024
Our guest this week is Scotti Fraser of Scotti Fraser Music and Sergeant Records. We had a great time catching up Scotti Fraser, who we love like a brother, but who is truly the brother you want to have. His energy and enthusiasm for his music and his mission are super inspiring and we certainly believe that everyone should hear and share his music. Scotti just wants to bring hope to others through his music. His first song was Angel (At the Top of My Tree). This is a new song by Scotti Fraser off of his Christmas EP titled Christmas On The Frontline. Make sure to check out this new music available on Apple, Spotify and pretty much everywhere you find your music. Second song was called Never Surrender. This one is about staying in the fight and not giving up on life. His last song was Christmas on the Frontline. This is the title track from his new EP. Last year he wrote this song and his son wanted him to get this song released, but didn’t have the time to get it done. This year he made time to get it released. It’s about a soldier who is away on duty and can’t be home for Christmas, but the thoughts of being with family on the Holidays keep them warm while they are away. Our guest this week is Jack, who brings us insite to the world of healing with natural ways, psychadelics to be real. He has been through the hard parts of service, and is wanting to help others when the demons are strong. There is lengthy conversation about the ins and outs of controlled substances, and how to control yourself. Some advice on how to maintain, but also a way to look at this as a healthier way to deal with anxiety and levels of PTSD. An interesting piece is the all-natural aspect of plant-based therapy as well. We will probably be going to Jack for more learning in the future! A new name to the People’s Patriot Project, Matthew Jones of Matthew’s Anthem from the great state of Nebraska on the show to share his music! Matthew served in the Army for 13 years in the Engineering Corps. He served 2 tours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. When he PCS’d he transitioned to teaching combatives to military personnel in Alaska. He was injured and found music therapy as a result of recovery. He started writing music because he wanted to share the healing power of music with others. The first song for us last night was titled Ghost In My Hometown. This was about moving back home after the military and he found that it was a lot more difficult than expected. This song was a result of the struggles that he went through during that transition in life. He also spoke about the opportunity that he had to meet with Wreaths Across America and was invited to go to Arlington to sing for Wreath Day on December 14. His second song was titled I Remember. He is also working on a few project songs. He spoke of learning to write while the inspiration was there and not forcing the songs to completion. He is looking forward to having more opportunities to share his music, hone his craft, and helping more people heal with music. His last song was titled Running. This song is all about how we’re all running from something. No matter what that is that you’re running from, you won’t stop running until you face it head on. When you have the drive to move, and the background of a father who was inspiring and supportive, what can you get done? Our guest this week hails from the great state of Missouri, and has found her place in NYC. She owns and runs an insurance company, is a professional witness, has written and book and become a keynote speaker, and is always on the go. Listen in as she shares how her father was an inspiration to her, in words and actions, and she has used that to inspire and coach others, as well as remember and honor her father. Susan Combs will entertain and captivate as she shares her upbringing and the lessons she learned. A new name to the People’s Patriot Project, Allen Hayes brings some depth and fun to the show on this episode. He was fresh off a trip to Camp Southern Grounds where he got to write songs with and meet 11 other veteran musicians for the first time. Allen spent 8 years in the Air Force where he was an F-16 Pilot. He says it’s all fun until you’re in the war. His first song was Over and Over and he said it was about knowing that you can never take that uniform off once you put it on. You will always be a soldier. The next song was Little Things about being a dad. This song was written for his son, Liam. He got the chance to play this song for his son at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The last song was called Smoke Show. This is a get up, get out there and dance song. It’s about when a girl walks into a bar and can captivate the entire bar with her dancing ability.
