  • The Mental Threads Podcast Episode #164: Solus Senpai
    Sep 18 2024

For this episode of The Mental Threads Podcast I will be conversing with Solus Senpai he is a very superb artist and a proud Charlotte Native that has 7 years of experience in performance art. We delve into his background regarding his influences from Music, Family, and Spirituality. We converse over matters regarding building a relationship with God and how it can positively affect one's life. We speak on his experiences as an independent rap artist from Charlotte, North Carolina and all that comes with it from the obstacles to the more wonderful aspects of it. We speak about community in the Charlotte Rap Scene right now with many artists adopting a more collaborative mindset but still being mindfully aware of those that may claim to be "promoters" or "artists" but not living to the standards of those titles. We get into discussion about all the many styles of rap artistry and what makes it great in it's own right. This is a very dope episode I am so glad he pulled up for it and you'll be glad to tap in as well.

  • The Mental Threads Podcast Episode #162: Kuroma Da Sage & Z0NE BEATZZ
    Sep 15 2024

For this episode of The Mental Threads I will be interviewing a returning guest in my Liberian Brother Kuroma The Sage and my new associate Z0NE BEATZZ both from Durham, NC. We had just come from a Carolina Waves event at The Evening Muse. They were both mesmerized by how just a taste of the Charlotte Rap Scene was so welcoming to them and how free they were networking with everyone that attended. I catch up with Kuroma The Sage since our last Interview while getting more acquainted to Z0NE BEATZZ. We speak about the differences regarding the cities of Durham and Charlotte and the respective Rap Communities of both. We have an extensive conversation regarding artist relations and the ups and downs that come with trying to build community in Charlotte as well as in Durham NC. We speak on the Frustrations as well as the many positive experiences in being an artist in a very interesting development in NC Cultural Rap Movement. This is a very dope episode that I recommend you check out!
