Is it possible to go from golf novice to golf professional in just 13 years? Between the ages of 37 and 50 that is... Well, that is the challenge set by one of our Pilgrims, Joel Gregory. The boys record their 50th episode, putting them firmly in the realm of single digit handicap podcasters! To celebrate they reflect on their top experiences across the first 50 episodes and the lessons they have learned along the way. Things get a bit emotional (and a bit inspirational), as the reflections move away from golf and onto the important things in life.

*Note for Pilgrims from non cricket playing nations. In the sport of cricket It is customary for a batsman to “raise the bat” in acknowledgment of the applause from the crowd when he/she passes the individual score of 50 runs (or 100, or any multiple of 50…). So we felt it was the most appropriate name for this episode!

After a discussion around Rory McIlroy's continued struggles in closing out tournaments and battles with "mental fragility", Andy takes us through his recent tournament rounds. Fresh from the hurricane at the Glenmore Senior open, Andy gets back on the horse (thankfully in better weather) to take on the Kooindah Seniors and the Carnarvon Seniors in his bid to qualify for the NSW Senior Open.

In part two of this two part saga Steve takes us through his performance in the stableford competition at Dubbo. Whilst there was less controversy than Andy's round, there was no less action.
In the process Steve also stumbles upon an effective mental approach to putting which seems to have eliminated the putting woes he was experiencing only a couple of months ago. Naturally Andy Walker takes the credit for his success...
