• Surrender + Renewal: A 2024 Eulogy
    Dec 31 2024

“As soon as I stop worrying, worrying how the story ends, when I let go and I let God, let God have His way”.- DeWayne Woods

What a year it has been. To 2024, it was fun but it’s time to leave it all behind and transition into the new year, but differently. Before we make those prayer boards, I feel it’s time to let go, genuinely, let go of the things, people, and places that no longer serve us before God propels us into the new respective seasons He has planned for us in 2025. What do I mean by this, you might ask.

As we close out the year, this conversation invites you into a heartfelt journey of surrender and renewal. Through a guided reflection, biblical encouragement, and a 'shed session' prayer, we will embrace the process of releasing what no longer serves us and stepping into God’s sovereign plan for the new year. Are you ready to surrender your worries to His feet and watch what He does in your life? This is “Surrender + Renewal: A 2024 Eulogy”, a conversation to end 2024 on the “People’s Princess Podcast”: the only home for intimate and intentional conversations designed to make YOU feel like royalty!

With the final guest co-host conversation for the podcast, what better than to interview someone who I consider to be a brother to me since stepping foot on the campus of Fort Valley State University.

Meet Demar Richards, a Junior Biology major with a concentration in Health Sciences from the city of Conyers, Georgia who has truly made his mark on campus and has much more to accomplish. Since being a wildcat, he has stepped into many rooms as a member and mentor for the AAMI Boys to Men organization, Student Government Association Senator, 2024-2025 Executive Secretary under the C.U.L.T.U.R.E Administration, and a Spring 24 initiate of the largest African American fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Gamma Zeta chapter. Beyond his roles, lies a sweet individual who is willing to show his love for people and dedication to creating a sense of community that allows anyone who steps foot in any environment to feel welcomed and supported. In today’s conversation, learn from Demar his story before his tenure as a Wildcat, what is means to be a leader in his community, and so much more that he has to offer through his own version of “A Gentleman’s Code”.

  • Jesus is King, but My Emotions are Valid
    Nov 29 2024

Have you ever heard the statement "Never question God on anything that happens"? Believe me, I have heard this myself many times growing up. It's even as if when we get confused with things that happen to us, we can't not only be concerned, but upset about it because of how He can be upset at us for expressing our emotions. However, this is farther from the case.

In today's society, especially with the events occuring around the recent results of the United States election, mental health, and a plethora of issues concerning our world today, we tend to find ourselves not being able to talk to anyone without being judged or scrutinized, specificially in the Christian community. So, the question that lies on the table is this: "Can we really talk to God about our emotions"? Join us today as we discover the depths beyond this topic all while carefully dissecting the myths and conceptions of being a Christian and recognizing the importance of our mental health.
