For this new season of The Poe Show podcast, I am so glad to introduce a new guest narrator to this episode who will narrate some of their own poems. He is one of the most famous American poets of all time, having written 256 poems in his lifetime. Today we are privileged to hear from Robert Frost's own voice the two poems The Road Not Taken and Woods On A Snowy Evening. Yes, this is a mock interview I've crafted with Robert Frost, but if you'd like to see the actual interviews I took these clips from then click the links in the description.

    Happy Halloween!!!
I hope you all have a spooky, scary, fun time this holiday and eat plenty of candy. This episode is in reference to The Drowned Man series on YouTube, made my one of my favorite YouTubers, Markiplier, and Wade Barnes. If you're unfamiliar with this story, check it out in the link below. I was inspired to write this after listening to their podcast, Distractible. I think these guys are hilarious and I listen to them all the time. Just wanted to give everyone a little joke poem today. I got super busy and I didn't have time to make something longer. But I hope you enjoy this spooky poem of mine, The Drowned Man!

I am excited to announce our very first story by a guest author, No Chapel Could Compare by Nicholas Leonard. A story of love found in the most unlikely of places and the most interesting of people. It's creepy, surprising, heartwarming and heartbreaking.

  • Poem: Spirits of the Dead
    Sep 7 2024

Send a text to the podcast

Edgar Allan Poe is known for his gothic poetry, and this is one of my favorites. Spirits of the Dead perfectly blends together the human mourning and mysterious nature of death, with contemplations that come from long nights he spent sitting alone, surely remembering those he had loved and lost. I often think of Poe and what writing meant to him. He struggled financially all his life, just to be able to write. This poem tells me why he wrote.

  • Ghost Story: The Striding Place
    Aug 26 2024

Send a text to the podcast

Today we enjoy one of the most famous ghost stories of the Victorian era, one of the most memorable of works from Gertrude Atherton. If you enjoy the macabre, drab nature of a silent walk on a lonely night or the terror of being swept away by the strong current of a river...beware The Striding Place. A terrific metaphor for the fear of the unknown and the impact of death upon those still living.

  • Poem: The City in the Sea
    Aug 7 2024

Send a text to the podcast

Edgar Allan Poe wrote this creepy poem as a young man serving in the military. With its intense atmosphere and vivid details of the macabre surroundings describing this ghost town, it's possible he could have been writing about his own horrific experiences during his service. Come along and take a journey through the city in the sea.
