  • In this short story and message, I retell the story of "Julius" the Centurion, who Jesus encounters in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 8, verses 5 to 13. I start with a fictional narrative I've written, into which the scripture has been transposed, then I explore some of the themes that are relevant for our lives today. In this episode, I focus especially on what one might call the "3rd golden rule of Christianity": Loving the foreigner, immigrant, and enemy!
